Dr. Acharya, a seasoned professional, currently serves as a Senior Fellow at CBGA, and a PFM Consultant at the World Bank. Previously, he held the position of Research Lead for eight years and spent another eight years as a Senior Research Officer at CBGA, New Delhi, a public policy research think-tank. Over his extensive career, spanning more than two decades, he has contributed significantly to various prestigious policy research institutes and organizations in India.

Throughout his career, Dr. Acharya has successfully completed several major action research projects, leading a team of 25 Senior Research Officers and Policy Analysts. His work primarily revolves around public financial management reforms, the impact of fiscal policies on crucial sectors like health, nutrition, and sanitation, as well as agriculture and food security. His expertise lies in Development Economics, Public Financing for Social Sectors, Health Financing, Urban Governance, Public Policy Analysis, Indian Economy, and Agricultural Economics.
